Demonstrations, Workshops, Talks
The summer of 2017 saw our first weekend-long craft event take place and by all accounts - it was a success. We showcased both metalwork and woodwork, bringing together local makers to pass on a passion for craftsmanship.
Demonstrations, talks and workshops took place, involving children and adults. We loved talking, showing, making and breathing crafts and we thank everyone that was involved.
DEMONSTRATIONS
Short, free sessions offering insight in to the techniques used within metal- and wood-work.
Professional makers demonstrated the different techniques involved in making a silver bowl, how best to sharpen domestic knives and how a simple wooden stool is crafted.
Workshops
Make a silver ring, carve a wooden spoon, press flowers in to metal pendants and create your own Bow + Arrow.
Workshops ran across both days and were suitable for adults and children of 4years+ with prices ranging from £10-£30.
TALKS
Informal talks about silver and working with wood.
We touched on some of the different applications of these hugely varied art-forms and questions were welcomed.
Saturdays' activities wrapped-up with a relaxed talk from one of the founders of Making Little Craft about their motivations, aims and hopes for this new event.
AND ALSO
There was mud, films, cakes and lovely things to buy.
A free Mud Kitchen and non-stop films in our makeshift cinema provided additional entertainment - and shelter from the occasional rain!
Beautiful pieces were available to buy from our talented makers and tasty snacks were on offer by our neighbour Cwt Tatws.
